TypoMonitor Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use typomonitor.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.
Who Is Responsible for Your Data
The controller of your personal data is the operator of typomonitor.com, referred to in this policy as we or us. You can reach us about any privacy matter at [email protected].
This policy applies to the website, the demo scan, the sign-up process and the subscription service.
Data We Collect
We collect only the data that the service needs to work, to keep it secure and to understand how people find it.
- Sign-up e-mail address and the confirmation code we send to it.
- The URLs you ask us to scan, including those you enter in the demo, and the findings produced for them.
- Your IP address and browser information, recorded with requests to protect the service from abuse and to apply usage limits.
- Campaign parameters (UTM values) and referring page, recorded when you sign up so we know which pages and sources are useful.
- Messages you send to [email protected].
Why We Use Your Data
We use your e-mail address to confirm your sign-up, deliver scan alerts and reports, send essential service notices and answer your messages. We use the URLs you submit to run scans and show you results. We use IP addresses to limit abuse and enforce fair usage.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of the contract with you for the service itself, on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and improving it, and on your consent where we ask for it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the text of the pages you scan for any purpose other than showing you your own results.
Who Receives Your Data
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only for the purpose of running the service. They fall into these categories: an email delivery provider that sends our messages, a hosting provider that runs our servers, and a payment processor that handles subscription payments.
The payment processor handles card details directly, and we do not store full card numbers. We may also disclose data when the law requires it or to protect our rights and the safety of the service.
How Long We Keep Data
We keep account data while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle questions, disputes and legal obligations. Demo scan results are kept only briefly so that you can view them, and are then discarded. Sign-up records that are never confirmed are removed after a short period.
Server logs that contain IP addresses are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to certain processing, to receive a copy in a portable format and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, write to [email protected] from the e-mail address you used to sign up, so that we can verify the request. We respond within a reasonable time and normally within one month.
Security, Transfers and Changes
Data moves over encrypted connections, and access to it is limited to what is needed to run the service. Our providers may operate in different countries, and where data leaves your region we rely on appropriate safeguards required by law.
We may update this policy when the service changes. The current version is always on this page, and for material changes we will notify subscribers by e-mail.
