Frequently asked questions
Is a scan read-only?
Yes. TypoMonitor requests public pages the way a visitor would and reads the text, links and images. It does not log in, submit forms or change anything on your site.
Will scanning slow down my website?
No. The crawler keeps a gentle pace, identifies itself as TypoMonitorBot and honors robots.txt, including any crawl delay you set. If you ever need it slower, the bot page explains how.
Can I teach it my brand vocabulary?
Yes. Add product names, people, places and industry terms to the vocabulary for a site, and they are accepted as correct on every later scan.
Does it work on pages rendered with JavaScript?
TypoMonitor reads the content your server sends to a visitor. Text that only appears after a script builds the page in the browser may not be visible to the scan, so we recommend checking that your important content is present in the delivered page.
Which kinds of English does it check?
You can choose the variant that matches your audience, such as US or UK spelling, so that a consistent regional style is not reported as an error.
Can I scan a staging site?
Yes, if the staging address is publicly reachable and is not blocked for TypoMonitorBot. Pages behind a login or limited to a private network cannot be scanned.
How are pages counted?
Each unique public page that a scan reads counts once for that scan period. Usage is measured as consumption in the billing period, and your plan page shows the allowance for each tier.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no further charges are made after that.
Do you offer refunds?
No. Payments for a subscription period are not refundable, which is why we offer a free demo scan of one page so that you can judge the results before you subscribe.
Is there a free plan?
There is no free plan. The demo scan of a single page is free and needs no payment details. Paid plans are Starter at 49 USD, Team at 149 USD and Agency at 499 USD per month, with annual billing at 50 percent off.
How do alerts work?
After a scan, TypoMonitor sends an e-mail summary of new findings to the recipients you choose. You can send spelling issues and link issues to different people.
What do the reports contain?
Reports list each finding with its page, the sentence or link involved, and the suggested fix, along with what changed since the previous scan. Higher plans include reports you can share with clients.
